How to Check Your Prepaid Visa or Mastercard Gift Card Balance

Need to know what’s left on your gift card? Follow these steps and use only the official sites listed below. A fake balance-check page can steal your funds in seconds, so type each URL exactly as shown and look for the HTTPS padlock.

How to Check your Visa Gift Card Balance

  1. Flip the card over. The back always lists an official website or a toll-free phone number.
  2. Open the site printed on the card. Re-type it in your browser—do not rely on search-engine results or ads.
  3. Enter the three numbers:
    • 16-digit card number (front)
    • Expiration date (MM/YY)
    • CVV / security code (3 digits on the back, sometimes under scratch-off)
  4. Submit and read the balance. You’ll usually see recent transactions, too. Screenshot the page in case of disputes.
